Maman Says Yom Kippur Cargo Work Will Be Minimal as Avi Maoz Seeks Halt

Maman said it will keep only a very small crew, mainly foreign workers, at its Ben Gurion cargo terminal during Yom Kippur, after Avi Maoz asked Transportation Minister Miri Regev to halt the work. The company said the reduced operation will monitor refrigerated and specially stored cargo, preserve airside continuity and safety, and prepare sensitive food and medicine shipments for flights after the fast. It said no aircraft will depart during Yom Kippur and described the arrangement as a longstanding minimal essential-service format. Maman attributed the backlog to shortened Tishrei workdays and scheduling changes; no response from Regev was reported.
