Palestinian Islamic Jihad claims that early Friday morning, "collaborator" militia forces backed by Israeli drones tried to abduct a member near al-Qarara, north of Khan Younis. PIJ fighters engaged the infiltrating force at close range, reportedly killing/wounding several. As the force withdrew, aided by drone cover, its members allegedly shot and killed the fighter they had abducted, Fadi Ali Saeed al-Abadla, leaving his body behind. The group confirms al-Abadla was a member of its al-Qarara Battalion, Khan Younis Brigade.
The IDF said its 36th Division secured the Ali al-Taher Ridge in southern Lebanon and cleared Hezbollah fighters from two underground routes, killing some and forcing others to flee. The military said the Iran-funded network, built over two decades, contained command centers, weapons stores and living facilities that allowed Hezbollah operatives to conduct prolonged underground operations. Troops are still working to neutralize the infrastructure and will adjust their defensive posture once the operation ends.

The IDF said Hezbollah launched two explosive drones at Israeli troops near the Ali al-Taher Ridge overnight Wednesday. Soldiers downed one drone, and no injuries were reported. The IDF responded by striking Hezbollah infrastructure near Nabatieh that it said supported attacks against Israeli civilians and troops in the Security Zone.

A notable event in Gaza today: A Palestinian militia backed by Israeli support raided Gaza City's Al-Katiba district, captured a senior Hamas Internal Security official, then covered its withdrawal with heavy airstrikes. The IDF said in a statement that it took Mu'in al-Arabid, head of Hamas's General Security apparatus since October 2023. However, a Hamas-linked source disputed the claim, saying only a lower-ranking officer was seized while the real target got away. Notably, Israeli officials and news outlets said the raid was actually carried out by an Israeli-backed anti-Hamas Palestinian militia under IDF Southern Command, not Israeli troops, with the IDF limited to air cover. Arabic news outlets reported the raiding force reportedly disguised itself using a bus and motorcycles before being detected and ambushed at close range. Hamas's security media frames the whole operation as largely foiled, claiming it captured three alleged collaborators and inflicted casualties on the raiders.
