Israel-Lebanon Talks to Resume in Rome July 15-16
Israeli Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter said Israeli and Lebanese working groups will meet in Rome on July 15-16 for the next round of talks on border, security and political issues. The reports say the meeting will be at ambassadorial level, that Leiter plans to attend, and that Lebanese President Joseph Aoun is expected to meet President Donald Trump at the White House on July 21. Leiter said the talks advance the Israel-Lebanon-US trilateral framework and direct IDF, Lebanese Armed Forces and CENTCOM coordination. He said Israel will remain in parts of southern Lebanon until Hezbollah is dismantled and no longer threatens Israeli communities.
