IRGC Denies Trump’s Claim of a Secret U.S. Backchannel

IRGC spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi denied President Donald Trump’s claim that Washington maintains a secret backchannel with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, calling it a delusion and saying no dialogue is taking place. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei separately denied unofficial contacts through Iraqi Kurdistan and reports of a secret meeting in Erbil. Mohebbi said Iran’s diplomatic apparatus was not negotiating with Washington, citing broken American promises. Trump had said his administration held a direct IRGC channel and had set no deadline for resolving the conflict while maintaining that Iran must not obtain a nuclear weapon.
