Two Tankers Cross Hormuz, Lowest Commodity-Vessel Tally Since Early May

Just two tankers crossed the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, the lowest daily commodity-vessel tally since early May, according to Kpler data reported Tuesday; both entered the Gulf. Kpler's updated snapshot identified one very large gas carrier and one very large crude carrier entering from the Gulf of Oman, far below the 10-day average of 14 and Sunday's seven vessels. The tally could change because some vessels had switched off navigation transponders. Separate preliminary Vortexa data estimated Monday oil transits at 5 million barrels per day, while Iran said it blacklisted 45 tankers for violating its passage rules.
