Zulat and Public Figures Seek to Bar Otzma Yehudit From Knesset Race

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of Itamar Ben-Gvir seated in a dark suit and glasses, facing the viewer with blurred figures behind him, drawn in warm ochre and slate-blue pastel with cross-hatching on sepia newsprint.

Zulat for Equality and Human Rights and a group of public figures petitioned the Central Elections Committee to disqualify the full Otzma Yehudit list and four named candidates from the 26th Knesset election. The request targets National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, MKs Tally Gotliv and Limor Son Har-Melech, and candidate Chanamel Dorfman. Filed by attorney Gilad Barnea under Section 7A of Basic Law: The Knesset, it alleges systematic incitement to racism and attacks on Israel's democratic foundations. Petitioners, including Moshe Ya'alon, Yael German and Omer Bar-Lev, asked the committee to hear the respondents and obtain the attorney general's position before ruling.
