Ahmad Tibi Says Arab Parties Could Move to Replace Knesset Speaker After Election

Hadash-Ta’al chairman Ahmad Tibi said opposition parties could take immediate parliamentary steps if they win a Knesset majority after the election, even before forming a coalition. In a television interview, Tibi said Arab parties would not support Amir Ohana for another term as Knesset speaker and would back an opposing candidate. He said the Joint List and Ra’am had also reached a surplus-vote agreement, and put expected Arab turnout at 60%. Likud responded that the remarks showed opposition parties would rely on Arab parties to replace the government.
