Israel and Kuwait Reportedly Hold Quiet Security-Cooperation Talks

Israel and Kuwait are reportedly holding quiet contacts on regional security cooperation, according to an informed source quoted in reporting published Thursday. The contacts were described against the backdrop of Iranian strikes on Gulf states and continued attacks by the Iran-backed Houthis. A former Kuwaiti minister said cooperation with Israel could help Gulf countries counter shared enemies and protect their security and stability. He argued that Israeli strikes were weakening Iranian military capabilities that could otherwise be used against neighboring states. The report did not announce a signed agreement.
