UAE Source Says October 7 Security Details Were Not Discussed by Leaders

An Emirati official source said the UAE discusses security matters with other countries through the relevant entities and does not discuss such details at the level of national leaders. The clarification addressed claims that UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed personally warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu before Hamas’s October 7, 2023 attack. The UAE Foreign Ministry had said on September 8 that government entities in both countries maintained direct channels and shared relevant intelligence when needed. The dispute has entered Israel’s election campaign over responsibility for the attack.
