Bennett Says Netanyahu 'Whitewashed' Qatar by Not Declaring It an Enemy at U.N.

Beyachad leader Naftali Bennett said Thursday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu missed a "historic opportunity" at the U.N. General Assembly to declare Qatar an enemy and expose its involvement in the October 7 massacre, and is thereby "whitewashing and legitimizing" it. Netanyahu told the assembly that Qatar led foreign states spending billions to spread lies against Israel and had hosted Hamas's October 7 perpetrators, but stopped short of the formal designation Bennett demanded a day earlier. Democrats chair Yair Golan said the speech "apparently was not coordinated with Jonathan Urich." The clash comes about a month before the election, amid the Qatargate investigation into suspected ties between figures close to Netanyahu and Qatar.
