Ma'ale Adumim to Petition After E1 Housing Tender Is Delayed Past Election

Ma'ale Adumim Mayor Guy Yifrach said on Saturday that the city will petition against a decision to postpone by one month the tender to build 1,234 housing units in E1, so that its date falls after the Knesset election. Yifrach called the postponement "crossing a red line" and argued that halting the tender now is "an intervention with political meaning." He said the tender was advanced months before the election on a professional track. "The Ma'ale Adumim municipality will not stand by," he said, pledging to use every legal tool so the tender continues. He said the delay adds uncertainty for developers and contractors amid international pressure against the project.
