  • October 4, 2026: Avigdor Liberman's Yisrael Beytenu party published a formal proposal on Sunday that would retain Israeli security responsibility throughout Judea and Samaria while assigning Jordan civil policing and administration in Areas A and B. The proposed Israeli-Jordanian confederation would give Jordan responsibility for public order and Palestinians' daily civilian affairs. The document also calls for dissolving the Palestinian Authority and cancelling the Oslo agreements. Liberman says the framework is intended to prevent a Palestinian state and keep Hamas or Islamic Jihad from exploiting a governing vacuum.

Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Liberman proposed giving Jordan civil and security responsibility for Palestinian communities in West Bank Areas A and B in an interview published Wednesday. He initially referred to Areas B and C, then clarified that he meant A and B. Liberman said Israel should retain full control of Area C and described a Jordanian-Israeli confederation as his preferred arrangement. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized the proposal, prompting a response from Liberman. Liberman said he opposes direct Israeli administration of Palestinian cities.
