2023 Abu Shehadeh Video Surfaces Ahead of Election Ban Review

A previously unreported TikTok video posted by Balad leader Sami Abu Shehadeh three days after Hamas's October 7, 2023 massacre was reported Monday as Israel's Supreme Court prepares to review his election disqualification. In the clip, Abu Shehadeh described the Palestinian issue as entering a significant political and strategic event and expressed sympathy for families of martyrs, wounded people and innocent victims. The report says he did not name Hamas or condemn the massacre. Israel's Central Elections Committee voted on September 23 to bar his candidacy, and Adalah said it would challenge that decision before the Supreme Court.
