Leitner Says Charedi Public Will Stay in Election Race After Netanyahu Meeting

Moti Leitner said Wednesday evening that Charedi Public would contest the Knesset election, after meeting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over efforts to persuade the party to withdraw. Leitner said he had listened to Netanyahu's proposal but placed the party's political project ahead of a personal position. He described continued candidacy as a way to represent Haredi voters he believes lack adequate representation. He also questioned whether withdrawal would address the community's military-service, education and employment concerns.
