Shin Bet Says Foreign-Influence Accounts Removed Ahead of Israeli Elections

The Shin Bet said on October 22 that social-media accounts used for foreign-influence activity ahead of Israel’s elections had been removed. It said the accounts were identified and taken down following joint work with the Cyber Department at the State Attorney’s Office and the Central Elections Committee. The agency described the operation as part of efforts to protect the integrity of the election process and prevent improper foreign influence. The reported statement did not specify the platforms involved, the number of accounts or the country behind the activity.
