Eisenkot Rejects Netanyahu Warning About Israel’s Jewish Character

Gadi Eisenkot rejected a warning he attributed to Benjamin Netanyahu about Israel’s future as a Jewish state. In a Hebrew statement on Thursday morning, Eisenkot said Netanyahu had warned that electing him would mark the beginning of the end of Israel as a Jewish state. Eisenkot accused Netanyahu of having fostered and funded Hamas for twenty years and of delaying decisions for three years to preserve his political position and avoid responsibility. He also rejected Netanyahu’s standing to lecture him about patriotism and love of Israel.
