Beliak Says Bloc Size Matters More Than a Party’s Lead Over Likud

MK Vladimir Beliak challenged Shaul Meridor’s election strategy on Saturday, arguing that the overall size of their bloc would determine the outcome. He said the gap between Likud and any individual rival party had no legal or practical significance. Addressing Meridor as a partner, Beliak said they shared the goal of forming the next government after the election. Meridor had argued that Benjamin Netanyahu wanted a tie that would leave him heading a caretaker government. Meridor said a large Yashar lead over Likud would prevent that outcome and enable their bloc to form a government.
