Lapid Rebuts Stark’s Holocaust Comparison, Citing IDF’s Role

Yair Lapid responded to United Torah Judaism candidate Eliakim Stark’s comparison of the Haredi community’s situation to the Holocaust. Invoking his father’s experience as a Holocaust survivor, Lapid contrasted the vulnerability of Jews during that period with the protection offered by Israel’s armed forces. He argued that a strong Jewish army safeguards against another Holocaust. Lapid also accused Stark of encouraging avoidance of military service, linking his criticism of the comparison to the dispute over enlistment.
