Haskel Calls to Withhold Funding From Institutions That Denigrate IDF Soldiers

Sharren Haskel called on Wednesday for taxpayer funding to be withheld from institutions that she said denigrate Israel and IDF soldiers. Responding to remarks attributed to Rabbi Shraga Steinman, she rejected what she described as a portrayal of the Gaza fighting as driven by wounded pride and revenge after October 7. Haskel said soldiers risk their lives to protect all Israeli citizens, including those who do not serve, and deserve gratitude and respect. Her post called for a funding restriction without announcing a formal funding decision.
