Board of Peace Demands Gaza Weapons Under NCAG Control
The U.S.-backed Board of Peace said it would judge Hamas's Gaza handover by actions, not promises, after Hamas announced the dissolution of its Emergency Committee and a planned transfer to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza. The board said a real transfer requires NCAG to exercise independent governing authority, under one authority, one law and one weapon. It also said all weapons must be consolidated under NCAG under the Gaza peace plan and UN Security Council Resolution 2803. For Israel, the test is not a Hamas paperwork shuffle; it is whether Hamas loses weapons, coercive power and the ability to dictate civilian rule.
