Senior IDF Officers Vow to Oppose an Unnecessary New War

Senior IDF officers told a military correspondent they would not support entering a new and unnecessary war. The officers alleged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to ignite an active front, probably Gaza, to disrupt or delay elections, a claim that has not been independently established. The report said the IDF is averaging 53,000 reservists on duty each day and that a month of reserve service costs about NIS 2.1 billion. It also said the army has lost 1,138 personnel and recognizes 11,730 personnel with physical or psychological injuries.
