Iran Warned U.S. Against Israeli Assault on Ali Taher, Officials Say

Three officials said Iran warned Washington that a full Israeli assault on Ali Taher Ridge in southern Lebanon would trigger a large-scale Iranian attack. Two said Oman relayed the message, while a third said U.S. pressure led Israel to postpone storming the Hezbollah-held position; a White House official denied the account. The officials said more than a dozen IRGC personnel, including at least two senior officers, were present with Hezbollah fighters, although the military situation could not be independently verified. The IDF separately said Hezbollah launched two explosive drones at Israeli troops there on September 2, one was intercepted without Israeli injuries, and Israel struck Hezbollah infrastructure near Nabatieh.
