Likud Candidate David Peter Calls for Attorney General to Be an Elected Minister

Likud candidate David Peter, who holds a reserved No. 16 position on the party's Knesset list, called for Israel's attorney general to become an elected Knesset member and cabinet minister. Speaking in an interview released Sunday, Peter described this as his preferred long-term model for the post. He has represented the government in High Court petitions. Peter also urged President Isaac Herzog to pardon Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The interview presents Peter's proposals and does not announce a Likud decision or a bill before the Knesset.
