Ethiopian Cargo Flight Reportedly Reaches Israel After Pilot Replacement

Ethiopian Airlines reportedly completed a cargo flight to Israel after replacing an Indonesian pilot whose nationality had led to the aircraft being turned back. The flight had departed Addis Ababa for Ben Gurion Airport on Monday, October 12, but returned after Israeli authorities received its crew list following departure and identified the pilot. The airline replaced him and sent the aircraft back to Israel; that evening's report said it landed there. The airline said assigning the pilot had been a mistake and that it had not known he could not operate the Israel-bound flight.
