Israel's Overseas Voting Begins With First Ballot Box in Wellington

Overseas voting for Israel's 26th Knesset began with the opening of the first ballot box at the Israeli embassy in Wellington, New Zealand. More than 4,800 eligible voters are expected to cast ballots at 101 Israeli diplomatic missions, with other locations opening according to their time zones. Voting abroad is limited to eligible state employees and official emissaries serving overseas, together with qualifying family members. The embassy in Fiji is expected to participate for the first time. Ballot envelopes will be sent to Israel by diplomatic mail for Central Elections Committee processing and double-envelope counting.
