Ya’alon Warns Against Security Escalation Around Israel’s Election

Former defense minister and IDF chief Moshe Ya’alon warned on October 15 against the possibility of war or heightened security tension being used to delay or influence Israel’s election. In a Hebrew post, he referred to a radio exchange about that concern and argued that the prospect should not surprise listeners. He called for opposition to such escalation before the vote and also after an electoral defeat. Ya’alon urged voters to remove the incumbent government on October 27, linking his security warning to his appeal for a change of government.
