Election Committee Plans Accessible Voting at About 90 Welfare Facilities

The Central Elections Committee announced plans for adapted polling stations at about 90 Welfare Ministry facilities for the 26th Knesset election. The arrangements cover more than 6,200 residents with mobility limitations in 62 institutions, about 220 people in 17 shelters, and nearly 900 service recipients in 10 closed therapeutic communities for people undergoing addiction treatment or experiencing homelessness. The committee, chaired by Justice Noam Sohlberg, will lead the project, while the ministry maps facilities and coordinates professional support. Voting in familiar care settings is intended to preserve treatment continuity, personal safety and ballot secrecy.
