Magal Says His Eisenkot Remark Referred to a Front Man, Not Appearance

Channel 14 presenter Yinon Magal released a clarification after calling Yashar chairman Gadi Eisenkot a “monkey.” Magal said he had used a criminal-world expression for a front man who is directed by others or left carrying responsibility for them, rather than referring to Eisenkot’s appearance. He said his remark had been taken out of context and described the controversy as manufactured ahead of the election. His explanation presented the remark as a claim about Eisenkot’s political role, rather than a comparison of his physical features.
