Netanyahu and Smotrich Meet Rabbi Eli Sadan Amid Push for Winter to Withdraw

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich were meeting Rabbi Eli Sadan in Eli on Tuesday amid efforts to persuade Ofer Winter to withdraw from the Knesset race. Sadan founded the Bnei David pre-military academy and is Winter’s rabbi. Winter heads Amcha Israel, whose candidacy has raised concern in the right-wing camp about votes going to a party that fails to clear the electoral threshold. The reports described the meeting as underway and did not announce a withdrawal, agreement or other outcome.
