Netanyahu Backs Bereaved Families’ Call for Winter to Withdraw

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged Ofer Winter to leave the election race on Wednesday, endorsing an appeal by bereaved families. In a Hebrew post, Netanyahu called on Winter to heed the families and withdraw to help the right win the election. The attached letter, addressed to the Amcha Israel leader and signed by representatives of bereaved families, called for his immediate withdrawal. The families warned that votes for a party failing to cross the electoral threshold could weaken the right’s ability to form a government.
