Smotrich Offers Winter Defense Ministry Post if He Withdraws

Bezalel Smotrich offered Ofer Winter a ministerial position in the Defense Ministry on October 21 if Winter withdraws from the election race. Smotrich said the post would come from his own party's allocation and linked the offer to avoiding a split on the right. He proposed a voluntary-emigration directorate and another directorate responsible for Haredi recruitment and integration into the labor market. Calling Winter a principled leader and courageous commander, Smotrich appealed for him to join forces on the basis of the proposed ministerial role and responsibilities.
