Winter Says Early Pledge to Recommend Only Netanyahu May Have Been a Mistake

Ofer Winter, who heads Amcha Israel, said on Wednesday that he was reconsidering the wisdom of announcing at the start of the campaign that his party would recommend only Benjamin Netanyahu for prime minister. In a television interview with Almog Boker, Winter said the early declaration might not have been the right choice. He stressed that he still belonged to the national camp and would not switch to the opposing camp because of attacks on him. His remarks expressed doubts about the initial announcement rather than naming an alternative candidate.
