Senior Religious Zionist Rabbis Urge Netanyahu to Halt Foreign Forces Plan for Gaza

Dozens of senior Religious Zionist rabbis have written to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz and the ministers of the security cabinet, urging them to stop the Board of Peace plan to bring international forces into the Gaza Strip. The signatories, reported on Saturday night, include Rabbi Dov Lior, Safed Chief Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, Rabbi Shlomo Aviner and Rabbi Uri Sherki. The rabbis wrote that bringing foreign armies into Gaza and handing them control would gravely harm Israel's security and create the conditions for a Palestinian state. "After the Oslo disaster, the same mistake must not be repeated," they wrote.
