Israel’s ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, accused New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani of spreading “dangerous lies” in his October 7 anniversary statement. In a response posted on Wednesday, Leiter wrote that it was hard to find a sentence in the mayor’s post that was not a lie. Mamdani’s official statement acknowledged Hamas’s killings and abductions on October 7, 2023, then accused the Israeli government of committing genocide in Gaza. The mayor also called for an end to federal arms shipments to Israel.
