Wasserman Schultz and Fulop Criticize Mamdani’s October 7 Message

U.S. Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Steven Fulop criticized New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s message marking the October 7 Hamas attack. Wasserman Schultz accused him of desecrating the memory of murdered Jews and refusing to condemn Hamas, saying criticism of Israel’s self-defense should not displace remembrance of the dead on the anniversary. Fulop said October 7 should be a day to remember the victims and stand with their families and survivors. He called the mayor’s decision to advance divisive political arguments on that date inappropriate and unnecessarily inflammatory.
