Eisenkot’s Yashar Party Reportedly Renews Push to Become the Largest Party

Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar party has renewed its drive to become the largest party, according to a newly reported message to activists. The message urged supporters to circulate it among friends, relatives and undecided voters and help Yashar overtake Likud. It argued that becoming the largest party would secure the first mandate to form a government, a claim made by the campaign. Unnamed opposition-bloc sources criticized the push as contrary to September 26 understandings to expand the bloc’s combined strength and postpone discussion of its prime-ministerial candidate until after the election.
