UK Police Re-Arrest Two Men on Suspicion of Assisting Iran Over RAF Fairford Incident

British counter-terrorism police re-arrested a 24-year-old UK national and a 25-year-old dual UK-Iranian national on October 20 on suspicion of assisting a foreign intelligence service under Section 3 of the National Security Act 2023. Police said the investigation relates to Iran. The younger man was first arrested near RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire on September 27; the older man was arrested in Westminster on October 1. Five other men remain on police bail. Counter-terrorism chief Laurence Taylor said investigators consider Iranian state involvement highly likely and are examining its extent and purpose.
