Trump Vows Multiplied Retaliation for Any More U.S. Troops Killed by Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran would "pay many times over" each time it kills an American soldier. He said the directive had been sent to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine and every military leader, without detailing the planned response. The warning followed confirmation of two U.S. troops killed in an Iranian attack in Jordan and another service member killed in Iraq during the controlled detonation of a downed Iranian drone. Seventeen American troops have been killed since the Iran war began, as U.S. forces carried out a ninth consecutive night of strikes.
