Opposition lawmakers demanded that the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee convene after the government decided to advance infrastructure and rehabilitation work in a planned Green Rafah area. Blue and White MK Yael Ron Ben Moshe wrote to committee chair Boaz Bismuth seeking answers about the decision. The Board of Peace has said its initial Rafah effort will proceed in stages, beginning with rubble removal and infrastructure stabilization before permanent housing. Its framework links an Israeli withdrawal to verified demilitarization and continued protection against renewed terrorist threats.
