Yair Golan called on the attorney general to order a comprehensive criminal investigation after Avi Gil’s interview, including examination of the involvement and responsibility of personnel at the highest levels of the prime minister’s office. He demanded immediate preservation of all recordings, protocols and original documents. Describing the testimony as an ‘earthquake,’ Golan said Benjamin Netanyahu must account for decisions before the October 7 massacre and any possible attempt to obstruct clarification of responsibility afterward. He also pledged to replace the government through elections and establish an independent state commission of inquiry.
