Maj. Gen. (res.) Avi Gil, who was Benjamin Netanyahu’s military secretary during Hamas’s October 7 attack, said in an October 8 interview that he preserved 16 handwritten notebooks documenting events before, during and after the attack. Gil said their contents were digitized before he left his post and stored on a classified computer in Military Intelligence. He said a state commission of inquiry would receive all his material and testimony on the day it is established. Gil explained that some entries recorded events and references subject to classification limits as he understood them.
