Hasson Says October 7 Inquiry Would Explain Failures to the Public

Former Shin Bet deputy chief Israel Hasson said an inquiry into the October 7 failures should explain to the public where the problems lay and help prevent a recurrence. In an interview published on October 16, he said he had spent four and a half hours reviewing the Shin Bet inquiry, found its questioning comprehensive, but still left without an answer. Hasson criticized the public confrontation between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former security officials. He argued that examining the failures should take precedence over that confrontation.
