Omri Shifroni Calls for October 7 Inquiry at Families’ Memorial

Omri Shifroni, a co-founder of Kumu, called for an investigation into the October 7 failures during the families’ national memorial ceremony on October 7. His niece and nephew, Liel and Yanai, and his aunt and uncle, Avia and Ayala Hetzroni, were murdered at Kibbutz Be’eri. He described the collapse of state systems and the loss of trust while families waited in safe rooms. Shifroni also praised soldiers who fought their way through and civilians who offered help. He said mutual responsibility alone was insufficient: uncovering what happened was necessary to rebuild trust, repair failures and prevent another disaster.
