Dozens of bereaved families from the Gevurah and Din V’Tzedek forums gathered at Jerusalem’s Gevurah Tent on Tuesday to call for a national inquiry into Hamas’s October 7 massacre with equal public representation. Acting Gevurah chairman Itzik Fitusi, whose son Yishai fell in battle, sought scrutiny of the military, security, political and judicial systems. He called for broad investigative powers, resources and authority to recommend punishment or prosecution. Orly Cohen, the mother of Amit, murdered in a Re’im shelter, proposed an equally composed national commission modelled on the US September 11 commission and urged establishing it after the election.
