Amcha Israel Says Full October 7 Inquiry Plan Will Be Unveiled Next Week

Amcha Israel, led by Ofer Winter, says it will publicly unveil its full framework for investigating October 7 next week. The party calls for a commission immediately after the next government is formed, with a structure intended to secure broad public trust. Its proposal has the new Knesset elect a chair and deputy, both retired judges, by secret ballot; those two would select the remaining members. Several opposition parties favor a statutory state commission, while Zehut proposes equal coalition and opposition involvement in appointments. The coming-week pledge gives no precise unveiling date.
