IDF Says It Struck Iran-Directed Syrian Terrorist Yusuf Ali Al-Hassoun

The IDF said Friday evening, October 9, that it carried out a precise aerial strike earlier in the day targeting Syrian terrorist Yusuf Ali Al-Hassoun on the Syria–Lebanon border. It said Al-Hassoun operated under the direction of the Iranian regime and advanced attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers in southern Syria. According to the IDF, over the past year he planned and advanced attacks involving explosive drones and rockets toward troops there, which were thwarted. The military reiterated its commitment to the Israel–Lebanon agreement. The statement did not confirm whether Al-Hassoun was killed.
