Netanyahu Says He Called Syria’s President to Stop Killings of Druze

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday that he had directly called Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa during killings of Druze in Syria and demanded that they stop. Speaking to Druze Likud supporters in Yarka, he described the conversation as brief and pointed and said the killings then ceased. Netanyahu did not specify when the call took place. He said he would take the steps needed to protect Druze and that further work remained which he could not fully disclose.
