Putin Says Iran Was Discussed in Friday Call With Trump

Russian President Vladimir Putin said his Friday telephone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump touched on the situation surrounding Iran, according to a statement published by the Kremlin on October 9. The readout said considerable attention was devoted to prospects for settling the Ukraine crisis, alongside aspects of bilateral relations. Putin said the presidents reaffirmed their intention to continue personal contacts and cooperation between their administrations, security services and other agencies. The statement gave no details of the Iran discussion and announced no agreement concerning Iran.
