IDF Opens Hezbollah Tunnel Near Beaufort to Israeli Reporters

The IDF disclosed Sunday evening that it had opened a Hezbollah tunnel near Beaufort Castle to Israeli reporters during a July 7 media tour, publishing their firsthand accounts and footage. The more-than-one-kilometer complex, built with Iranian backing for prolonged combat, held anti-tank weapons, anti-aircraft systems, explosives, heavy machine guns, kitchens, showers, electricity and water. It also contained a fully equipped underground operating room, allowing terrorists to remain inside for months while attacking Metula and other northern communities. Yahalom combat engineers have placed explosives throughout the facility and the military says it plans to demolish it, while Division 36 remains ready for renewed Hezbollah action.
