Democrats chairman Yair Golan said at a national security conference that if his party wins 15 seats, he believes he will serve as defense minister in the next government. He said the party would also seek the Justice, Education, Communications and Public Security ministries as a package for advancing its security and democratic agenda. Golan described Yashar chairman Gadi Eisenkot as the opposition bloc’s current natural candidate for prime minister, while saying the largest party should lead the next government. He also argued that each opposition party has a different electoral task and that his is to build a large democratic-liberal bloc.
